What Is a Dismissal?
Dismissal is an order ending the bankruptcy case before successful completion and discharge. This order allows creditors to restart legal action for collecting the debt involved in the bankruptcy. A case may be dismissed voluntarily by a debtor or by the court. It may also be dismissed on motion of the trustee or a creditor, for good reasons, such as failure to timely pay Chapter 13 plan payments, attend the 341 meeting, or file complete information with the court.
